KURAI wins the 2nd position at the Asian Culinary Awards

At Eboca Restaurants, we are celebrating because our talented chef Bryan Jay Tica de Castro, from the Kurai restaurant at the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel, has secured second place in the Asian Culinary Awards.

The Asian Culinary Awards, organized by UDON Asian Food, are one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of Asian cuisine in Spain. In its ninth edition, over a hundred chefs and industry professionals participated with their best recipes, and only three were selected for the final. Besides Bryan, the other finalists were Juan Antonio Rodríguez López, chef and owner of Balcón Gastrobar, and Cristina Gómez Manarel, head chef of Restaurante Fierro in Valencia, who holds a Michelin star and was the winner of the competition.

The grand final took place in Barcelona, where the finalists cooked live in front of a renowned jury, composed of figures such as Jordi Pascual, CEO of UDON Asian Food; Carlos Hernández, chef of ABaC restaurant and winner of the 2024 competition; Laia Zieger, food journalist; Eva Hausmann, chef and food stylist; and Mario Bedoya, national manager of Oriental Market.
